Soccer talent is not always easy to recognize

At youth competitions, there are players whose skill sets vary- some may have shooting skills, some may run faster than others, and some may possess impressive dribbling skills. However, these skills reveal what a player can do at that moment, but they do not guarantee the future. Talent can plateau, increase, decrease, or even disappear completely. That is why talent in football is a holy grail. In our opinion, talent means potential; potential to become a top football player. In our opinion, growing talent is closely related to 4 important factors:”: mentality, environment, luck, and guidance.

First mentally; a professional football player must have motivation, perseverance, ability, and the ambition to develop his or her talents. In addition, a positive self-image and attitude are essential.

Setting; the environment is also an important factor- who are you surrounded by? Who are the trainers? Is the football player supported by his or her parents? Do players have the support of nearby friends?

Luck; In addition, a little bit of luck is needed to become a professional football player. In which environment are you born? Do you suffer from serious injuries?

Guidance; Finally, guidance is an important factor and this is where Progento comes into the picture. Both on and off the field, Progento is committed to assisting players in terms of content / tactics. Progento will also assist players in setting goals and planning for the future. A well-rounded and successful player needs the support and guidance of an experienced group of people, and Progento aims to be a valuable resource for all players.

‘’ Recognizing of talent is the holy grail in football’’

We are based in Ecuador, and we focus on scouting. We monitor various age groups in different areas of Ecuador, in search of talent. We begin to more closely monitor players aged 16 years and older. By this age, players have developed a variety of skills, physically and mentally. Assessment at this stage becomes much more critical”
