There are many talented young football players in Latin America who are spotted by talent scouts and brought to European clubs to train and develop a professional career in sport. Many of them experience difficulties in their new environment, because there are significant cultural, personal, social and athletic gaps to be bridged.

There are many factors that may alter the mental and physical performance of the footballer.
Challenges and difficulties adapting to new conditions such as language, culture, customs, values and athletic performance can lead to stress, pressure, self-doubt, loneliness and homesickness.

These are all factors that can contribute to an early departure, even when footballers have considerable potential to succeed in the sporting field.
